Coronavirus Updates

Time to start thinking about “What’s next?”

Hopefully we will be entering Phase 2 very soon and this will signify that less of the virus is around, but we still need to keep our guard up! Let me share with you exactly what we have done to protect us all.

One of the major improvements we have done is to install 4 Reme Halo air purification systems to protect the entire office.

These units have the following features and benefits:
• Dual ionizers to reduce airborne particulates (dust, dander, pollen, mold spores)
• Kills up to 99% of bacteria, mold and viruses
• REME® reduces sneeze germs by 99% in the time a sneeze can reach three feet.
• New zinc ions kill 99% of viruses on surfaces
• Unlike portable units that are limited to the room in which they are placed, the REME HALO® provides whole home and building purification.
• Easily integrated with your existing HVAC system. The unit doesn’t take away living space and operates silently.
• Two (2) quick release features for easy, no tool, cell replacement
• Incorporates an adjustable shroud around the REME® cell, which allows customization of the advanced oxidation plasma output.

It has the following applications:

• U.S. Military approved for mold reduction in field hospitals.
• U.S. and International Hospital approval for the fight against infectious diseases: 99% reduction of Staph (MRSA).
• Major U.S. city school reports 20% reduction in absenteeism.
• Tested and approved by the Chinese Government for protection against the deadly SARS virus.
• Approved by the USDA, FSIS, and FDA for use in food processing plants. Employed to reduce microbial contamination of food being processed.
• Cruise lines use it as a safety measure against Norwalk Virus outbreaks

The REME HALO® can be installed in a wide variety of residential, commercial and industrial applications where a ducted HVAC system exists. Here are some examples:

• Single family homes, apartments, condos
• In hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and doctor’s offices
• Schools, daycare centers, colleges and universities
• Fitness centers, locker rooms, athletic facilities
• Office buildings
• Veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, kennels,
• Hotels, motels, and resorts.
• Food processing and manufacturing plants/facilities
• Restaurants, diners, and bars
And to review, some changes and protocols you will see when it is time for your next appointment:
  • Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
  • Other than when you are having dental treatment, wear a face mask at all times.
  • We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
  • We will take your temperature with a hands-free forehead thermometer.
  • Once seated in the dental chair, we will ask you to gargle with hydrogen peroxide.
  • You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines,  since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. Please ask Elena or Bonnie for cups.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
  • We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
Types of appointments we are now scheduling
  • Emergencies of any kind
  • Patients in which treatment may have been delayed, but could cause more damage by waiting any longer
  • Patients in the middle of treatment and any delay would cause more problems
  • Hygiene appointments for all patients that have active periodontal disease
  • Anybody that has had gum disease in the past, and could develop an emergent problem if a cleaning appointment  is postponed any further
  • As always just call if you have any questions on what can be done at this time

See How Your Smile Can Improve with a Virtual Smile Consult

Do you ever wonder what your smile could look like if you received dental bonding, porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, and more? A Virtual Smile Consult allows you to receive cosmetic dental treatment recommendations from Beacon Place Dental Group before you ever set foot in our Brookline, MA, office. If you send us up to three photos of your smile at pics@smilewell.com, we will typically respond with our recommendations to you within one to three business days of your submission.

In your "before" photo, please face the camera and show as much of your smile as possible. This will give us the best sense of what your smile looks like.

What is a Virtual Smile Consult?

Oftentimes, patients know that they want to enhance the aesthetics of their smile. However, they may not be sure what it will take to achieve their desired goals. A Virtual Smile Consult from our team can help you understand what cosmetic dentistry can do for you.

At Beacon Place Dental Group, we understand that your smile is as unique as your fingerprint. Through a Virtual Smile Consult, we can discuss how some of these procedures can be used to create "your smile, for your face."

What to Expect from a Virtual Smile Consult

To receive a Virtual Smile Consult, simply email one to three high-quality images to our team at pics@smilewell.com. Next, describe in detail what you wish to change about your smile. For example, you may want to change the shape, color, or alignment of your entire smile or even a single tooth. Finally, enter your contact information, including your name, email, and phone number.

Once our team receives your photos, we will assess your smile and recommend possible cosmetic treatment options to enhance it. In most cases, we can send your results to your inbox in just one to three business days, depending on the number of submissions received that week.

Benefits of a Virtual Smile Consult

A Virtual Smile Consult offers a number of advantages. First, it is available to anyone who is curious about the benefits of cosmetic dentistry.

Secondly, you do not even have to be present in the office to take advantage of this service. You can explore your treatment options from your couch at home.

Thirdly, patients can have a better understanding of potential cosmetic procedures and be better informed about their treatment options.

Digital Smile Design at Our Practice

Once you receive your Virtual Smile Consult results, you can decide if you are interested in pursuing cosmetic treatment. If so, we will schedule you for a personalized consultation with Dr. Papadopoulos so that you can begin exploring your options.

During this visit, we can perform a fully customized and more in-depth Digital Smile Design, building on top of your Virtual Smile Consult with professional photos and videos taken during your examination. Next, these images are uploaded to our proprietary software, where Dr. Papadopoulos will design a treatment plan to fit your needs and budget. In fact, we can even create a mock-up for you to try on so that you can experience the new color and shape of your teeth before your treatment begins.
